ImprovedAI Engines

More realistic AI visibility scans with live web search

Prompt scans now use live web search by default, matching how people actually use AI assistants.

What it is

A setting that controls whether prompt scans run with web search enabled or rely on an engine's memory only.

What it does

By default, every prompt now runs with web search turned on for engines that support it, combining the engine's memory with live web results for a more realistic answer; results-based engines and Perplexity always use the web as before.

Why it matters

Most people use AI assistants with web search on, so scans that reflect this give a truer picture of how your brand actually shows up, improving the accuracy of your visibility tracking.

How it works

Supported engines use their native web search, or a gateway search tool where native search isn't available, unless an account is specifically set to memory-only mode; each answer records which mode was actually used, and cost reporting reflects the mode in use.

How to use it

  1. No action needed, scans will automatically use web search where supported.
  2. Contact support if you'd like your account switched to memory-only scanning.
