G2 integration

AI engines quote review sites constantly, and G2 is one of the loudest. The G2 integration brings buyer intent, category and review data into WriteWorks so you can see what buyers compare you against and what engines repeat back.

What it is

What the G2 integration is

The G2 connection reads the data your G2 account already provides: category placement, review signals and buyer intent activity around your profile and your competitors'.

It sits in WriteWorks because engines lean heavily on third-party sources when answering comparison questions. When an assistant is asked who the alternatives are, the answer often traces back to a review site, and knowing what that source says about you is the difference between guessing and knowing.

What it does

What you can do with it

Four questions the two data sets answer together that neither answers alone.

The comparisons buyers run on G2 are usually the same ones they ask an assistant, so the list is a map of the prompts worth tracking.

How it works

How the G2 integration works

About a minute to connect, and nothing to maintain afterwards.

1

Get your G2 API credentials

G2 provides API access on qualifying plans. Create credentials from your G2 account.

2

Add them to WriteWorks

Open Settings, then Integrations, and choose G2. Enter the credentials, which are stored encrypted.

3

Map your category and rivals

Confirm which G2 category and competitors matter for this brand, so the data lines up with the prompts you already track.

4

Compare the two pictures

What G2 says about you and what engines say about you appear together, and the difference is usually a content problem you can name.

Who it is for

Who uses the G2 integration

The same connection answers a different question depending on who is asking.

Know which alternatives buyers put you next to before an engine tells a prospect on your behalf.

You bring your own account. The G2 integration authenticates with your own account at G2, on your own plan and your own quota. WriteWorks reads the data that account already has access to, and nothing else. Disconnect at any time and the stored credential is deleted.

FAQ

G2 integration FAQs

The questions teams ask before connecting it.

What does the G2 integration do?+
It reads category, review and buyer intent data from your G2 account and shows it beside the AI search visibility WriteWorks tracks, so you can see what buyers compare you against and how engines repeat that.
Do I need my own G2 account?+
Yes, on a plan that includes API access. WriteWorks reads what your account can already see and does not resell G2 data.
Does WriteWorks post or change anything on G2?+
No. The connection is read-only. It does not respond to reviews, edit your profile or contact reviewers.
How do I connect G2 to WriteWorks?+
Create API credentials in G2, then open Settings, Integrations, choose G2 and enter them. Then confirm the category and competitors this brand should track.
Why does review data matter for AI search?+
Because engines cite review sites heavily when answering comparison and alternatives questions. What a review site says about you frequently becomes what an assistant says about you.
What happens if I disconnect it?+
The stored credentials are deleted and WriteWorks stops reading from G2. Data already collected stays on existing reports.
