AI search analytics

AI search analytics with the evidence one click away

Most AI search analytics stop at the chart. WriteWorks keeps the stored engine answers behind every point, so you can click a number and read the answers that made it, with the brands named, the citations and the searches the engine ran. Mark the launches and campaigns that matter as milestones, and when a line moves, Diagnose works out whether the change is real and what drove it.

The challenge

Why AI visibility charts get questioned

A number without its answers is hard to defend.

A chart you can't open

Visibility fell 6 points. Which answers changed? On which engine? A dashboard that can't show the answers behind a number leaves you defending it on trust.

Noise mistaken for news

AI answers vary from day to day. Without a check against normal swings, a one-off dip triggers a week of work.

No record of what happened when

A product launch, a site migration, a new batch of prompts. Without those events on the chart, nobody can line them up with the change.

Mentions never reach the pipeline

Brand mentions inside AI answers rarely surface in analytics, so the work can't be tied back to revenue.

The solution

How the AI search analytics work

Evidence, X-ray, milestones and diagnosis, on the charts you already use.

Click a point or a range on the visibility, sentiment, citation history or competitor charts and choose See the evidence. You get the stored engine answers behind that number, with citations grouped by domain, by page or one by one.

Featured story

“Honestly, the jobs board looked fine in a browser, so we never questioned it. The audit showed that only 5% of our job pages gave crawlers real content. We moved the listings into the server HTML, and the re-audit came back at 100%. The typical job page now carries 73% of its content before any JavaScript runs, and we're working through the rest.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything teams typically ask before getting started.

What is AI search analytics?+
AI search analytics is the measurement of how AI engines answer the questions your buyers ask: whether your brand appears, how it ranks, what is cited and how that changes over time. WriteWorks adds the evidence layer: every number links back to the stored answers that produced it.
What does See the evidence show?+
The stored engine answers behind a chart point or range, as a list of answers or as citations grouped by domain, by page or one by one. Select an answer to open it in Answer X-ray.
What is Answer X-ray?+
A full view of one stored answer: the response, the brands named in order (with your brand and tracked competitors marked), every citation, the searches the engine ran, and how the answer was collected, including the persona, whether web search was on and exactly what was sent to the engine.
How do milestones work?+
Add a milestone for anything that might move visibility, such as a launch, a content push, a PR hit or a site change. Some are detected automatically, like content published or an engine starting to answer. Each milestone shows the visibility change in the 7 days after it, or says when there isn't enough data to tell.
How does Diagnose decide whether a change is real?+
It compares the period with the one before, checks the change against normal daily swings with a significance test, checks whether it held, breaks it down by engine, topic, region and prompt, and looks at the sample, competitors, milestones and measurement changes. The verdict is one of Real change, One-off spike, Within normal range, Sample changed, Measurement changed or Not enough data, with a confidence level.
Is this the same as AI citation tracking?+
Citation tracking is one of the charts this works on. For tracking which URLs each engine cites per prompt, see AI citation tracking; this page is about opening any chart, citation charts included, to see and explain what is behind it.
Diagnose

Six verdicts, so you know what to do next

Real change

The move is outside normal swings and it held. Follow the drivers.

One-off spike

It happened, then faded. Usually not worth a sprint.

Within normal range

Inside the usual day-to-day variation of AI answers.

Sample changed

Prompts or engines present on only one side explain the difference.

Measurement changed

How answers were measured changed, not what engines said.

Not enough data

Too few answers to call it either way yet.
