IndexNow submission

IndexNow from the same screen as your crawl data

IndexNow lets you tell participating search engines a URL has changed, instead of waiting for them to find out. WriteWorks puts the request next to the page's AI crawler activity: submit the page, record when you asked, then see whether the crawlers come back.

The challenge

Why updated pages sit unseen

Crawlers take their time, and IndexNow is one more tool.

Updated pages wait to be recrawled

You fix a page so it answers a question better, then wait for crawlers to notice. Until they do, every search and AI index still holds the old version.

IndexNow setup is one more task

Using IndexNow normally means generating a key, hosting a key file and calling an API or installing a plugin, separate from the tools where you analyse pages.

No record of what you submitted

Even when teams ping IndexNow, there is rarely a log of when each page was submitted, so nobody can tell whether a crawl followed.

Answers shift week to week

The same buyer question returns a different set of sources each week, so a one-off audit is stale before the fix ships.

The solution

How IndexNow works in WriteWorks

Request, record, then watch the crawl.

From the page analytics view, request re-indexing of a page in one click, right next to its crawler activity by engine and intent.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything teams typically ask before getting started.

What is IndexNow?+
IndexNow is an open protocol for telling participating search engines, including Bing and Yandex, that a URL has been added, updated or deleted. Engines that support it share submissions with each other, so one ping reaches all of them.
Does Google support IndexNow?+
No. Google does not take part in IndexNow. Google discovers changes through its own crawling and your sitemaps.
How do I submit a page to IndexNow in WriteWorks?+
Verify your domain in WriteWorks, which hosts a key file at your site root, then open the page in the page analytics view and request re-indexing. WriteWorks records the request and sends the IndexNow ping using that key.
Does IndexNow help with AI search?+
IndexNow updates the indexes of participating search engines. Some AI answer experiences draw on those indexes, so a faster refresh can help them see your latest version sooner. WriteWorks lets you watch the page's crawler activity to see what actually happens.
Which plans include IndexNow requests?+
IndexNow requests are part of AI crawler analytics, on the Growth and Enterprise plans and on agency plans, not Starter.
