Brand positioning

Brand positioning and messaging, captured once and used everywhere

Positioning only works if it shows up in what you publish. WriteWorks holds your brand positioning and messaging framework in the Brand Hub, from identity and business goals to the key messages every piece should carry, and writes from it each time it drafts for your brand.

The challenge

Why positioning drifts

Strong positioning rarely survives the trip into day-to-day content.

Positioning lives in a slide deck

The positioning workshop produced a great deck. Six months later, the blog, the landing pages and the AI-assisted drafts all describe the brand slightly differently.

Key messages get lost in production

A messaging framework is only useful if writers apply it. Under deadline, the core messages are the first thing dropped from a brief.

AI tools describe you generically

A general-purpose AI model knows nothing about how you want to be positioned against competitors, so its drafts default to category clichés rather than your angle.

Answers shift week to week

The same buyer question returns a different set of sources each week, so a one-off audit is stale before the fix ships.

The solution

How WriteWorks holds your positioning

Identity, goals, key messages and personas, stored as structured fields.

The Identity tab stores your brand name and a description of your personality, values and what makes the brand distinct. It becomes the reference point for how WriteWorks describes you.

Measured as a real channel

“Before WriteWorks, our content landed and disappeared. Now every asset ships citation-ready, gets cited across the engines our buyers ask, and ties back to the loop. It's the first time we've measured AI search as a real channel.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything teams typically ask before getting started.

What is brand positioning?+
Brand positioning is the place you want your brand to hold in a buyer's mind: who it is for, the problem it solves and why it is the better choice. It is usually summarised in a positioning statement and carried into content through a messaging framework.
What is a brand messaging framework?+
A messaging framework turns positioning into the specific messages writers use: the core value proposition, key messages and the proof behind them, often tailored by audience. In WriteWorks those messages live in the Goals tab, alongside your buyer personas.
How does WriteWorks use my positioning?+
Your brand profile, including identity, goals and key messages, is passed to the AI whenever WriteWorks writes for that brand. That covers the content editor, briefs, automations and Ask AI, so positioning is applied rather than remembered.
Do I have to write my positioning from scratch?+
No. During onboarding WriteWorks analyses your website and drafts a starting profile, including category, target market, the core problem you solve and your unique selling point, for you to review and edit. The AI field assistant can also draft or tighten any field.
