Traffic, conversions & opportunities

Connect AI visibility to traffic and revenue

Visibility is a means; pipeline is the point. Connect your analytics and search data and WriteWorks shows what AI search is actually worth in visits and conversions, then scans that data every day to surface the content opportunities with the most upside.

The challenge

Why AI visibility stalls at the dashboard

A score nobody can convert into pipeline, and opportunity discovery that only happens quarterly.

Nobody can say what AI search is worth

Leadership asks what the AI search programme returns and the honest answer is a visibility score, which is not a number anyone can put next to pipeline. The connection between being cited and being paid is missing.

AI referral traffic hides in plain sight

Sessions arriving from ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews land in analytics without a clean label, so the fastest-growing channel gets counted as direct or other and nobody notices it growing.

Search data sits in a separate tool

Classic search performance lives in Search Console, AI visibility lives somewhere else, and the two never get compared or acted on together, even though buyers use both.

Opportunity discovery is a manual audit

Finding the next content move means someone exporting spreadsheets and eyeballing them, which happens once a quarter at best and goes stale immediately.

The solution

How traffic, conversions and opportunities connect

Plug in the data, value the channel, then let the scans nominate the work.

Count the real people who click through from ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI answers, broken down by assistant, with AI crawlers kept out of the numbers. The answer to "fine, but what is it worth?", in visitors rather than a visibility score.

Success story

What real brands fixed with WriteWorks

What each brand fixed, measured before and after with the same audit, in their own words.

Job pages AI can read 5% → 100%

“Our job pages used to reach AI crawlers as a "Loading jobs..." placeholder. One rendering fix later, the share AI crawlers can read has gone from 5% to 100%, and every job page now names itself with a proper heading.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything teams typically ask before getting started.

What data sources does this connect to?+
Google Analytics 4 for traffic and conversions, and Google Search Console for search performance. Both connect by OAuth from the integrations hub. Their data feeds the opportunity scans, report widgets and templates, and Ask AI.
How does WriteWorks identify AI referral traffic?+
Through the WriteWorks tracking snippet. It classifies each request as a known AI crawler or a human visit, and records human visits with the assistant that referred them, so AI referrals get their own number instead of being absorbed into direct or other referral buckets.
What are opportunity scans?+
Daily, automated passes over your connected data that surface content opportunities ranked by upside. Fifteen signals run across four sources: AI visibility, SEO and keywords, traffic and conversions, and content freshness. You set the scope in scan settings, and every scan is retained in history.
What signals do the scans look for?+
Untapped prompts, prompt content gaps, pages that could get cited, declining citations, losing share of voice, almost-page-one positions, losing rank, losing clicks, CTR gaps, cannibalisation, losing traffic, high traffic with low conversion, zero-traffic pages, outdated content and thin content.
Do I need Search Console and GA4 connected for this to work?+
The AI visibility and content freshness signals run without either, since they use WriteWorks' own crawl and tracking data. The SEO signals need Search Console and the traffic and conversion signals need GA4, and each source in the queue tells you what to connect if it is missing.
What are quick wins?+
Positions where a small amount of work produces an outsized gain, typically pages ranking 11 to 20 with impressions worth chasing. They are flagged automatically from your Search Console data as almost-page-one opportunities rather than found by manual export.
